Rachel Thomson began her career in fashion working for the long-established, British knitwear manufacturer William Lockie and Co. Dealing with independent fashion retailers across the country and further afield provided the ideal experience when she made the move from manufacturing and wholesale to retail, acquiring Humes Outfitters in January 2020. Since taking on the business she has worked hard at instilling her vision which seamlessly combines traditional retail with modern technology and is always 100% customer centric. These changes have earned Humes Outfitters three Drapers Independent Awards in the last two years, including Multi-Channel Independent of the Year in 2021 and 2022 and the Rising Star Award in 2021.
