Mark founded Dransfield Construction in 1986 and two years later Mark won the Yorkshire Television Young Enterprise Business Person of the Year Award. After finding a niche role in supermarket construction, Mark formed Dransfield Properties in 1992 and left the construction industry for the field of retail property development – bringing some of the first Aldi stores to the north of England. After starting out developing small stand-alone stores, Dransfield Properties has built up a reputation for delivering sympathetic town centre and district centre retail destinations, the company works with some of the leading names in the retail industry. Mark is passionate about investing and developing in town centres rather than out of town and was selected as one of the advisors on the Mary Portas Panel. Mark is an active supporter and member of industry bodies and organisations including The British Council for Shopping Centres (now REVO) and is regularly invited to speak about town centre regeneration at conferences and events. As well as his role at Dransfield Properties Mark also heads up Sandersons Boutique Department Store at Fox Valley in north Sheffield and has been instrumental in attracting several key brands to the store.These include Jacob Cohen Jeans, Pennyblack, Barbour International, Clarins and a range of high-end fragrances. Mark took on the role to build on the work of his late wife Deborah who founded Sandersons in 2016. Mark is also a keen supporter of local projects within the communities which Dransfield Properties’ works.
